Before we go

Dinner was excellent! Kendra made a great (heavy on the garlic, of course!) marinade for the chicken, which turned out perfect, along with potatoes and carrots, fresh watermelon and pineappple and whole wheat bread. Colleen brought some wondeful brownies, which was nice, given that our plan to get a chocolate cake from the bakery failed because of the Holy Thursday city-wide shutdown.

We had a great time with the Greers- the kids were precious and were very curious about everything in the apartment. (After they had left, we found several of our empty water bottles mysteriously stashed away in our closet!). Elias eventually fell asleep on Colleen's lap on the couch and Isabella watched Dora the Explorer on TV.

Afterwards, Justin texted me on my phone that he and some of his friends were getting together for drinks at the Marine house, so I took a car to the Embassy and hung out and drank with the guys for a few hours.

Tonight we're finishing packing for our trip to Palawan- we get our car at 4:30am tommorow morning and we'll be back on Tuesday.

Here's some miscelleaneous sights from the last few days.

[What you won't find in the U.S. (Part One). We've mentioned the refill-and-reuse efforts here in the Phlippines. Another example- refills for aluminum foil and plastic food wrap. For about 75 cents.]

[What you won't find in the U.S. (Part Two). Small packets, table shakers and 1 Kilo bags of pure MSG]
[What you can't find in the Philippines --An entire rack of Cadbury's products and NO EGGS!! Easter is ruined!]
[New and exciting events in abstract Photography...a blue plastic cup filled with 7Up, shot from beneath a glass-topped coffeetable with the new Canon 350D]
